I am kinda bummed that I haven't had time to visit downtown N'Orleans. Instead, I am hunkering down some 30 miles to the east in a suburban town called Slidell. This town, it appears, suffered greatly from last year's Hurricane and is still on a slow path to recovery. At dinner this evening I learned that the Appleby's restaurant that provided dinner only recently started serving dessert again. The menu's were not their signature plastic coated and brightly colored ones, but a list of available menu items generated by an antioxidant index ratings. My server, a perky young girl in her late teens, was excited to inform me that the famous Appleby's Grill Rib Eye Steak special was back on the menu. I wanted to celebrate with her by ordering the returning hero, but I was put off by the it's 12 ounces mouth watering choice steak. I opted for the smaller strip steak instead. |

Damn I'm good. When I want to turn on the extra hot fire charm, it works like a charmer! ;o) I kill myself sometimes. No, seriously, it's really good to know when to really be smoothe during an attempt to seduce a person and almost guarantee to have your lover tonight. ;o) And just like seduction can be totally an unknown subject to some people, this one topic just got me looped. Is it early ahlzheimers or not? These days I am either seriously spacy or there are times when I float in and out of a conversation. It is almost like I am truly there in the conversation and then all of a sudden, something comes over me and I cannot for the life of me recall what was being discussed. Finally! A little good news for a change. I was researching undemount kitchen sinks at work today and Ray's mom showup, and she told me she thought the photos I took of Ray were great. That's a good boost to the old ego. Even after years of doing photography, I am still not a very good judge of my own work. My mate keeps breaking up with me and then wanting to get back together like I am some yo-yo. I think NOT! Which reminds me again over and over how wonderful it is to play with my computer because it would never treat me like this. I discovered walking not long ago. You would think to yourself, well, that cannot actually much exercise to just walking alone. And boy, you would not believe it. At first, if you start out doing a good 2 mile walk, you will be surprised to see that, at first, you will be a little tired. But once you get going for the first week, it gradually gets easier. What an interesting weekend. There was an antique show and a home and garden show at the state fair grounds. When my husband saw coins on the sign, we did a hard right-turn into the fair grounds only to find out they were still just setting up on Friday. The two days following though, he went there and bought coins as he had found a dealer selling them at wholesale. There were even some gold coins. I had my eye on an 1898 St. Gaudens 1 oz for $650 and sure was tempted. But when I thought of how much hosting, how many domains, and how much keyword research for success rates of vasectomy reversals among other keywords that money could buy, I just had to pass. Maybe one day this online business will take off and I will be able to start investing in and collecting gold and platinum coins. |
